Birthing Beyond
Hello! My name is Amanda & I am a registered nurse with hospital experience in postpartum, paediatrics, & the neonatal ICU. I also work as a private paediatric home care nurse. In nursing school, I fell in love with my labour & delivery & postpartum placements – I knew the maternal child area was where I wanted to work. I was blessed to obtain a hospital job out of school that trained me on all 3 units of postpartum, paediatrics, & the NICU. In the hospital, I noticed that there tended to be a knowledge gap for parents of what to expect in the postpartum period when it comes to recovery & newborn feeding. This led me to learn more about postpartum recovery & breastfeeding support, & I came to realize that knowledge increases confidence for parents, & a postpartum support village is super important. So, Birthing Beyond was created! I provide postpartum home care nursing services (sort of like a postpartum doula) & breastfeeding support. I am currently completing my International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification & have obtained other breastfeeding certifications to help you with your journey.
